Cuesta Fire Agate Mine
If your unfamiliar with Fire Agate Don will tell you the story of how Fire Agate was formed many many years ago, and give you a tour around his place showing you tables of Fire Agate and some of the samples of other rocks and Gems he has acquired over the years. Don will take you up to the Claim , show you where to dig and is very helpful in giving you assistance in how to find, locate and dig the Fire Agate out and off the Host Rock, which is mostly Rhyolite. Fire Agate is hiding on the host rock and you will have to work for it. Unfortunately it won't jump up and into your pocket. When you remove some overburden you may find a piece of Fire Agate hiding on a piece of host rock
. Remember to bring the tools required to find and remove your new finds. Basic tools required to find your Fire Agate are Hammer -10lb,3lb,Chisels, Screw Driver or small pick, Brush,Gloves, Hat,Bucket, Water for both Drinking and spraying the rock. Digging is hard work so expect it have a few soar muscles the next day. Finding only a couple pieces make the day and trip worth while. Prospecting new area's within the claims has proven to be fruitful where Gem Quality Fire Agate is being located along with Chalcedony (Desert) Roses and Druse Crystal Clusters.

- Claim open from 10am daily for digging
- You brought it in , You take it out. ( Garbage, Cigarette butts, etc) This helps us keep the lands free of debris, also keeps Local Burro's, Coyotes and other wildlife safe from foreign debris
- It's asked that when digging a/or in a hole you keep it free of debris for your safety and the safety of others who may be working in it in the future.
- If you don't have tools, Don is willing to rent his tools to you for a nominal fee.
- No digging or picking up any Natural Material on the Claims unless otherwise approved by Claim Owner.
- No digging in unauthorized locations on the Claim.

If you don't have the tools to dig, Don's willing to let you use some of his tools for a minimal cost.
$30.00 a day walk the claims and pick up what you find on the ground.
$50.00 a day Dig in selected spots, includes the $30 walk around Fee.
Personal Tutoring in the hole, to dig will be an extra $50 and hour.
Safety Glasses and Gloves are not supplied, Bring your own.
Tool Rentals, $5.00 a day per person ( tools returned at end of day)
- Groups Discounts - for 10 or more people at a time when Booked. On day of booking if 9 or less show up, Regular per Person Dig prices apply. ( No Exceptions)
- Professional Diggers (you know who you are. prices discussed)
- Maximum 5 Gallon Bucket per day, over that quantity, to be discussed
- In respect to others, It's up to you to clear the overburden from the hole as you dig.
